Nip it in the bud

I am not so naive as to believe any action on the part of the US Government against radical Islamists will have everlasting consequences. But, when it comes to fighting the Jihadi's who want to destroy us, here are some observations.

  1. They (Jihadi's) hate Israel and they hate us. No, I am not painting all members of Islamic faiths with the same brush
  2. We are still too dependent on their oil
  3. Armies, including ISIS, do not get bullets and beans ex-nihilo. Someone has to supply the money
  4. Not all in item one are willing to die for their cause, but will spend billions for the cause
So, instead of just sending a few JDAM's at combatants at the front, the United States should, additionally
  1. Make haste to develop our own realistic (forget solar and wind) energy sources, rather than be at the behest of OPEC
  2. Declare all money, food, and munitions suppliers to the Jihadi's to be a Clear and Present Danger to the United States
  3. Send some of the same airmail that the Jihadi's are receiving to these individuals, cartels, etc.
  4. In spades
The jihadi's and their patrons* must learn to fear us more than they hate us. Then, as Jefferson and Reagan demonstrated, they will leave us alone for a while.

Anything less assures our eventual destruction.
